Has anyone used retro light bulbs in an enclosure, they look awesome and seem to put out a lot of heat but the wattage is really low. I'm used to around 60w bulbs for heat but vintage bulbs are 6w but seem too
put out same amount of heat?????

Hey - yes, a loooong time ago they were actually used a fair bit with rteptiles. You right they do/did give off more heat for the wattage. The disadvantage was that the carbon filaments were very brittle and tended to break easily with any movement. Maybe this has improved??
I would have thought now that they are 'trendy' the bulb cost would be high?

Yeah thanks for the reply, cost wise there about $30 dollars each which is ok I guess as long as they last a year I guess. Thinking of putting three across the top of a TV conversion with a heat mat in the middle.
