I've been using 2x 40w party globes in the tank and at night temps are getting too low. Local reptile store has recommended infared lights at a higher wattage... But I'm wondering.. can I leave them on at a certain temp 24 hours? Maybe the uv light as the day/night cycle light and infared for heat? I've never used them before.
Any advice is recommended.

Depends on how old your animals are & what you are trying to achieve?
Adults at this time of year will be in cooling as it's breeding season, if your animals are youngsters & you intend to feed through the winter you might want to add some heat but there are plenty of different ways to achieve this.

Maybe set up a heat mat at an ambient night time temp. It can be frustrating when someone advises you to use"infrared" as ALL incandescent light emits infrared. I never understand why pet shops start talking about infrared lights, either they have no idea of basic science or they are trying to sell you something you dont need. You will find plenty of reptile keepers avoid buying "specialist" reptile lighting & buy globes from outlets such as bunnings because of the cost.
However lights are not the only way to heat the enclosure, research heat mats, reptile radiators, heat cords etc, there are planty of items on the market that can fill your needs.

You could replace one of the party globes with a ceramic heat lamp that's on 24/7.

Would need to be recabled. Trying to avoid that at the moment.

keep your usual day setup then at night just use a CHE (surrounded by a cage)if it gets cold.
Thats what I do.
