Hey guys,

One of my female woma pythons has finally shown signs of being gravid (laying on her side showing her belly). I noticed initially a month or so ago the egg follicle development which looked like a small ball further up the body. It is my understanding that the egg follicles spread down to the lower end of the body. At the moment i can only feel one egg around 20cm from the cloaca. Will this be the only egg she has? Or do the eggs develop from the back end up? Its my first shot at breeding so im learning a bit as i go.

cheers, Brodie

There really shouldn't be much close to the cloaca at this stage.
I would pay close attention at this stage as it doesn't sound good.
Cheers, Dan

Thanks Dan, the lump is still a good 20cm or so from the cloaca and now more eggs can be felt spreading further up the body

Oh ok, I didn't read your post properly.
Just get some spagnum moss from Bunnings and line her box with it. Pay attention to when she sheds as she will lay about a month after that.
