Dead snake :(

I came home this afternoon to a dead jungle python the snake was perfectly healthy although a faulty thermometer was the cause of death, the mercury inside the thermometer exploded and when I saw inside the tank I new it was the cause of death...this a warning to people to only use electric thermometers not ones which use mercury

Not sure that mercury will explode. Also there is not many thermometers contain mercury these days. Mercury poisoning takes a while to kill as well , what are you saying was the cause of death?

Exactly as andy said. I'm pretty sure it's actually illegal to have thermometers which contain mercury for consumer use now.

It was extremely old and I think the snake was sick science I bought it didn't eat all the time and when It died it was extremely lumpy not sure if its Normal because its my first dead snake

They use a non-toxic alcohol now instead of mercury, so that rules out your original theory.

I would suggest a necropsy so this doesn't happen.
In your original post you said it was a "perfectly healthy snake" and in your latest post you said it was sick since you acquired it. A necropsy will possibly rule out this uncertainty.

Nah he is fine now great snake but this one was fine
