Bought a white and black jungle months ago. now being told its a cape york.
what is a cape york? does that mean i have a cape york x jungle carpet?

Cape yorks are jungle pythons. Just a different locale (forgive me if I've mistaken the correct term)
you may have purchased it as a b&w julatten. Do you have a picture possibly so we could try confirm it for you?
Either way, it's a jungle, just from a different area and with varying looks.

no, there is mainly two types of black and white jungles jullattens and cape yorks
what do you consider a normal jungle a black and yellow? either way no they are both the same subspecies just look different to the eye,
