If the authorities went over to the person whom killed the snake they would be powerless in this circumstance, All the person has to say is i thought i was in DANGER and he will get off scott free. So much for illegal, if there was proof that he went out into the bush however looking to kill snakes then thats a different story.

Unfortunately, it was basking outside of his room, and so he took the liberty of beheading it.

As it was outside his room and he had to leave the house to go out and kill it, to say his life was at risk is a fabrication, therefore he is not defending himself, he technically would be prosecuted......if he had been in the vicinity of the snake and had the relevant equipment to kill the snake at hand, then he could claim imminent risk....but as stated...it was outside his room!

I'd have to agree with snakehandler, he went outside seeking the snake. There was no threat posed to him.

He is definitely able to be prosecuted for this act, and he should be - or he could've copped a bite from the snake, maybe then he would think twice the next time around
