Hi all, I have been floating around this forum for a couple of months but this will be my 1st post. I live in Adelaide and have never kept reptiles before.

I have recently (yesterday) purchased a 6 month old Murray Darling Carpet Python. He is all set up in a large click clack at the moment and seems happy in his new surroundings. I was watching him last night in the dark cruising around and checking everything out. Once he gets a little larger I'll be lashing out and getting a 4 foot + vivarium for him.

The only problem I am having is he doesnt have a Name yet. I was wondering what are some of the weird and wonderful names out there for your snakes?

I will try and take a couple of photos this afternoon to post.

Cheers

the only snake of mine that has a name is called Onyx.
My girlfriend names everything.

bfg, Onyx is a beautiful name!! :D

I once met someone with a snake called Fluffy??

My two are called Shadow and Striker, a friend of mine has a childrens named Milkshake, the guy next door to my granny apparently has a jungle named Yabbadabbadoo :?

finding names is hard for me and i have only been able to name one of mine,my bhp's name is cytherea(another name for aphrodite the godess of beauty and love)ive been trying to think of names for 2 of my stimmies(they have been unamed and i have had them for about 9 months

my jungles are called
medusa and nero
my coastals are countess and vladimir
and my bredli doesnt have a permanent name yet lol.

Thanks for the replies guys and gals. My girlfriend wants to call him "Murray" because he is a MD but i think thats too obvious. I have heard a few "bubbles" and "Fluffy's" out there as a bit of a joke name. Its such a hard decision, god help me when i have kids.

maybe give it a little time, find out what its personality is and go from there,my mate called his tyson coz the first time he handled it it bit his ear

Oh, I have just consulted the missus and our male jungle is called Conan.
I wanted to get a female and call them Tarzan and Jane.

azn- hahaha, check google and see who the other famous 'cytherea' is.

All my snakes and ackie have special names.
Opals (intergrade) - a word within the words yellow carpet snake.
Wolley (intergrade) - yellow spelt backwards (for my high yellow carpet)
LCD (ackie) - my monitor's name but I call him LC for short.
Lara (Bredli) - Street name in Alice Spring where wild bredli are found.
Rufus (bredli) - latin for red
Joe and Rocky (both bredli's) - named after the guy who discovered the bredli's Joe 'Rocky' Bredl.
Stella (olive) - Latin for Katherine where she was caught.
Marlow (olive) - name of a waterhole in Katherine where he, too, was caught.
Zan (jungle) - didn't like Tarzan so scrapped the 'Tar"
Jane (jungle) - Zan's girl.
Bindy & Abony (both intergrades) - words found within words 'black and white carpet pythons' except I don't know where the D came from in Bindy's name.

I tend to name my specimens on bloodline locations and local Aboriginal names, bit different I know. For example, I have a female SA MD called 'Morgan', and a NT Olive named 'Nitmiluk'. Then my ridge tail monitor has the very original name of 'Ackie' lol

my male bredli is Loki after the norse god of mischief
His girlfriends are Yani (meaning peace) and Yindi (meaning the sun)
the diamond is Bella, cos shes beautiful! :)
and the jungles are Ra (male) after the egyptian sun god, and Nut (female) the egyptian sky godess. :)

geckos are norbu and nyoko, meaning precious gem in tibetan, and japanese. (i think, a friend picked them)
and jade and jasper (stones, cos i think amyae look like rock men)

the beardies just have silly names, Chubby cos shes chubby, Bug cos she used to run away from her bugs, Kaida meaning little dragon, Kyro, Faa, Ty aka stumps and Sabrina.

my beardys are called CBD1,CBD2,CBD3
I thought it suited their personality
