Peninsula Tiger Snake

I have been wanting one for long enough.
Today I recieved this 2y\o peninsula tiger snake
and he chowed down on the fuzzy rat (after I pithed it).

Took a couple of pics and just had to share them

He came to me in a bran bag and that is the white spots that you can see,lol
At first i thought 'oh bugger,mites'
Still got the treatment as normal with new additions.
Ill take some better pics after he settles a bit.

Just tigers and adders at the moment.
Might get back into copperheads and blacks and browns again one day.

Temperment ,?He or she is an absolute darling, very curious and not angry or flighty at all.

whats pithed????

Ah pithed,when i went to feed the thawed rat,the snake seemed disinterested,
so, with the point of the tweezers, i made a hole in the top of the defrosted rats head.
This allows the tasty brain juice to run and when they (the snakes) smell / taste this its usually smooth sailing from there.
Thats pithing the brain kids.

Im told his ancestors came from kangaroo island, but this one comes from a few generations of captive bred animals.Your tiger is very nice to jozz

In some light the faint banding shows up well jozz,
but it's only young ,so it should get blacker as it matures.

Not Bad. A mate of mine used to keep a heap of them a while back. As you said they end pitch black as they mature.
