The Grampians are such an underrated place to herp.
With close to every single species of temperate victorian skinks confined to the area, it is absolute paradise.
I headed up to the area on the easter weekend for a camping trip with a mate, and when we arrived at the camping ground at Lake...
God I love this place,
The people are so friendly, and it is just a beautiful place overall. Visiting the market, we bought some delicious homemade jams and relishes and some wood burnt art from a very talented elderly woman.
But, I wanted herps, and so far, I have a few, but no photos. I was...

Haven't seen a herping thread on here for a while now, so here we go.
As the temperature here is getting colder I decided I would try to get out as much as I could on my holidays and try to find some species I have never photographed yet around my area.
Unfortunately I could only get access to...

There were two main parts to the area, the Merri creek and the grasslands.

These are photos from a quick trip out to Broken Hill and Menindee in northwestern New South Wales. These areas are quite a distance from Canberra where I am currently working. I clocked over 3500 kms of driving in 4 days so I spent much of my time behind the steering wheel. As always, though...
Hello all,
Its been a while since I was last on here. These eggs were found in woodlands, just north of Melbourne. I am pretty stumped on to what they are from?
The only reptiles seen around here are Copperheads, Blue tongues and small Skinks.

G'day guys,
I've seen a few people recently mention that the floods will be devastating to reptile populations - this couldn't be further from the truth. The flood water in SEQ is loaded with debris, and generally only several hundred metres wide as Brisbane is quite hilly.
I took these...
Hi Guys,
Happy New Year, hope it's a good one for you all.
These skinks are quite plentiful in my rather untamed vegie patch and judging by how big and fat some of them are they must be doing the job as far as pest control goes.
Can someone ID them for me please? North Burnett region...
I'm heading to north straddy tomorrow for a night and just wondering what herps can be found there, in paticular what skinks can be found on straddy? I know patternless/weakly patterned Ctenotus robustus can be found there, any good spots to see these skinks? Would love to try and snap a few pics
Decided to snap a couple more pics to see if i could get anything half decent of the striped skinks, they are so flighty, still yet to get a decent photo. The night skink on the other hand is much more settled and sits still for pics.
Got 2 of these little skinks a few days ago, they are only about 1-2months old but already approx garden skink size. Pics aint the best as they are so fast and flighty. Enclosure is a 54l plastic tub with a wooden stack under the basking light and a piece of dead wood at the cool end. Only got...
I'm getting new skinks soon and have a choice of a few species but not too sure what to get. On offer i believe are Carlia vivax, Ctenotus robustus, narrow banded sand swimmers and broad banded sand swimmers. Tell me what you think i should choose and why.
I thought I'd have some fun and post some shots of a snake i recently caught and see who can ID it first.
For the newbs, so you hard core seasoned herps with venom in your veins keep it to yourself eh!
ok first photo
will put another one up tomorrow!
Back in May I decided that I wanted to do something special for my 21st birthday. I wanted it to involve reptiles, something new, and due to my lack of a vehicle it had to be somewhere nearby. I decided that I wanted to climb Mt. Elliot, south of Townsville, in order to look for the riverine...
Found this skink in my dogs mouth.
It was still alive and I've seen them around all the time I just have no idea what it is. So before I let it go I took it inside and got a some photos.
Just want to know what it is.
Thanks
