Hi everyone! I'm Moondance...
I'm new to the world of reptiles, but years ago I thought about getting some and I've always had a fascination with geckos. Snakes scare the living bejesus out of me, but geckos and lizards are love.
My best friend has what I believe is a leaf tailed gecko? Or...
Hi all,
Its been a while since i have put a post up, so I will try and put everything from the year in one
big post. There will be a few areas of Australia covered. I am still working in Mount Isa in
North-west Queensland, however I am now living in Brisbane. This change has given me a...
So this thread is composed of a bunch of reptile pics I've taken since back in October, through to now over a couple different trips.

Over the Christmas break, I had the opportunity to make a quick trip to the Red Centre. It is a place that I've wanted to see for many years but never could find the time to get out there. Australia is a big place and the drive to the middle of the continent is a big one from the east coast...
So recently I've been doing a bit of herping here and there. My aim for herping this year was to get my list of species of Australian reptiles seen (and positively ID'd) to 200 species. Having completed this earlier this year (in a thread yet to be posted), I decided to head to Qld with some...
Does anybody keep Diplodactylus conspicillatus?
Trying to find if anyone currently keeps this species on license anywhere.

Well I guess that answers my question
Hey Guys,
I was just wondering about the feeding of the some of the termite specialist geckos such as Diplodactylus conspicillatus & Rhynchoedura species. I was wondering what the deal was with feeding them as in quantity per feed and such. However I'm really curious as to know if ants will be...
I recently had a week break from work so decided to visit a couple of my favourite areas in the eastern deserts. The first destination was the Lake Eyre Basin near Winton in central western Queensland. This is one of the relatively close places for me to herp but it was a 26 hour drive from my...

A colleague and I recently got back from a herping trip through the Pilbara ranges. We were hoping to travel further north to the port headland area to try our luck for some Womas and Black headeds but unfortunately we were hit by the full force of mother nature. When it rains up there it...
Hi Everyone.
For the past 10 days I and 3 others have been on a trip throughout the Pilbara.
First up was the big drive from Perth to Robe River, Pannawonica and was expected to arrive at 8:30pm.
As most would know not all plans go the way you want them to and this one didn’t, just before the...

Here is a different view of some of the Australian lizards. Macro shots often reveal intricate patterns that are not so obvious in the normal full-body or portrait photographs. When examined like this, these lizards seem to be living, breathing works of art.

Day seven saw us heading inland, from The Caves on the coast, through Emerald and up to Charters Towers. It was mainly a driving day, but we did find some roadkill along the way. We got some rooms at the Charters Towers pub and then headed out for a night drive...
There is a paved road that extends west from Windorah for about 120kms before finally giving away to gravel on the Birdsville and Diamantina Tracks. This road is a great place for night driving since there is very little traffic on it at night. It also passes through a variety of habitats...

This is part 2 of the Exmouth area report. Once again, it is a combined report of animals that I found with my son in November, 2005, and with a friend in February, 2007.
We saw a number of Burton's Snake-lizards (Lialis burtonis) in November but none in February. All of those in the...
In February, 2007, a friend and I visited the Goldfields area of Western Australia. In this post, I will include photos of animals that we encountered in the Wiluna/Leonora/Laverton area. The habitat here looked great and it seemed to hold lots of potential for snakes. In the end, we saw few...

Hi All
Just had to post these - they vary so much in colouration & patterning - an to me are the next best thing to Diplodactylus Galeatus if not better in colours & patterns - my thoughts only.
The camera & flash dont do them justice - the top specimen is so orange compared to the pic...
The Grey snake is a mostly harmless Elapid that is native to my area & is on the endangered list . So I'm very keen to do my bit & in a worst case scenario at least have them safe in a private collection . Can anyone help me out in aquiring a couple of these little fellas before it's too...
