Havent made a herping thread in a while!

Hi everyone, I have owned a few marbled geckos for a while now.
I am wondering what is the best type of lizard for me that is on the basic license for victoria.
My tank is 2 foot by 1 foot and I would much rather a lizard that will be active during the day.
Cheers everyone

Hi all.
I've been seriously considering getting a gecko the past couple of months. My house is quite small so he/she would have to be in my room. I've got the space and everything, so that much is fine, but I'm worried about messing up it's day and night cycles. I'm a uni student and do my work...
Hello, I am currently having a problem with my Nephurus Levis Levis.
(firstly backstory)
When bought from the pet store a few months ago I was advised to refrain from extensive handling as to avoid stressing the gecko, in which I did so. However, the gecko has become aggressive towards me. One...
Smooth knob tailed gecko
Hey guys so I was reading about smooth knob tailed geckos and they look really cool I heard they don't need a heat lamp or mat is this true because if it is I might consider getting a pair
cheers
I've changed my mind and it would be more suitable to get a thick tailed.
do you think a 1 foot old aquarium could house 2-3 thick tails?
and I live in Melbourne will they need a heat source?
2014 has been reasonably good to me so far in regards to the herping trips I have been on. I just wanted to show some of them off... although I'm quite the dreadful photographer. Regardless, here they are.

Hey there guys, I'm pretty new in the world of reptiles. I'm looking at getting my first reptile & the first species that stuck out to me was the smooth thick-tailed gecko. I have a few questions, they're probably really obvious but anyway... The first thing I haven't really found any proper...
Well I was going through my mum's kitchen cupboard and found a newish 7L Sistema tub, and wanted to know if it would be a suitable house for a 14cm thick-tailed gecko? I don't need any heat do I, because I've got Harley without any heat and he's doing fine (eating & pooing regular):)
Not specifically an id thread as I wasn't in a position to get a pic but looking for clarification...
I was at an abseiling training weekend with the SES in a railway cutting near Deepwater south of Tenterfield. We were descending a granite face and found some loose features on one section that...
I've already got a female thick-tailed gecko, but she's under breeding age, I've separated her from my male because he's bigger and was attacking her.
I'm really wanting to get another female thick-tailed gecko that's bigger than my male and hopefully be able to breed. Would it be okay to...
So I went out yesterday I bought another Thick-Tailed Gecko to go with my big boy Harley, the pet store told me it was female, so I just want to hear from someone with a bit more gecko experience to tell me it is female or not.
This is my checklist for my hatchling Stimson's python, I've decided now that I'll go with a heat mat as I've got one for my thick-tailed gecko enclosure and I've never ever had a problem with it.

I'm really looking into getting a Smooth Knob-Tailed Gecko (Nephururs Levis Levis) as I've had and still keep Marbled Geckos, I've also got a Thick-Tailed Gecko his name is Harley, and I've always wanted a Knob-Tailed Gecko. Just want to know if I am going to be caring for him or her...
I've always wanted to breed my wonderful boy Harley (Thick-Tailed Gecko) for a while now, but want to know if it would be a good idea to keep a male and female together? and hopefully try and breed.
I've got a few questions also...
(1). How would I go about introducting Harley to a female...

I've had Harley my Thick-Tailed Gecko for 3 months now, he used to eat then always the next day or 2 he would defecate, I would then clean it out.
I feed him on the 4th November then again on the 8th November but he hasn't defecated since the 2nd November, I'm a little concerned that...
So I've got my Thick-Tailed gecko in an Exo Terra Terrarium that's 45x45x45 cm, I've started to think of all the upper space I'm wasting as he doesn't climb, so I'm going to purchase one of those Low Exo Terra Terrarium 45x45x30 and put him in that instead so I'm not wasting any upper space...
when I was young, well younger, as I am only eleven. when I was about six we went on a holiday down to baitmans bay. we went to this beach were there is a barbecue. while everyone was chatting and cooking the meat, I went for a walk in the bush, that was behind the beach. next minute I come...
Hi all,
We have a small spare tank, about 45 x 30 x 40. Is this ok for keeping 1 or two geckos, and if so what species?
Thanks.

That's fine to keep a pair of any ground dwelling gecko.
Eg:
Knobbies
Diplos
Bynoes
Thanks for that.

So I've had Harley my thick-tailed gecko for about a month or so, he used to eat, but all of a sudden he's stopped, is this anything to be concerned about?
I have changed sized crickets from small to medium, so I don't know if this has anything to do with it. He's hot side is 19/20 degrees in...
Many times on this forum I see threads about mixing one genetic morph from one species to another and the usual flame fest ensues.
Like clock work there will always be posts claiming how the same can be achieved by keeping the line "Pure"
So lets see them! please include pictures of all types...
One of my mates are coming down to Melbourne next month and he's offered to give me his green tree frog, which I'm very interested in, but I've got a couple of question's about caring for one.
(1). What is an appropriate sized enclosure for one or two?
(2). What kind of heating/lighting do they...
My Thick-Tailed Gecko Harley is settling in very well and has stated to eat, he had 5 crickets that were coated with (rep-cal) calcium powder.
But I'm not sure how many times he needs them coated, is one feed with calcium then the next without, so on and so on what I should be doing?
Also...
Now that I've got myself a Thick-Tailed gecko, I've been thinking about purchasing another reptile (Lizards only) and wanted to know from you guys what's another great lizard to possibly buy?
But I need it to suit my needs
(1). Something that can live it's whole life in an 3 or 4ft tank or an...
I've been thinking about this for a few days now, and now that I've got my Thick-Tailed gecko, would he need to be wormed? to avoid the nasty little hungry critters.
Just want to hear what all you guys think? Do you worm your reps as you would with your cat or dog?
So as u all know I've recently purchase an awesome thick-tailed gecko...my question is, with my 45x45x45 exo terra enclosure would the exo terra heat mat (Extra Small - 10 x 12.5 cm) would this be the appropriate sized heat mat? or do I need to go bigger?
So finally I got my Thick-tailed gecko Harley! Just put him in his new home, I've given him a light spray with some water and he licked his eye, what a funny sight to see.
I'm so exited with him!
Here goes, I was in mixed minds about if I should get a knob-tailed gecko or a Thick-tailed gecko...but I've been doing loads and loads of research over the past few months, and I've deeply decided to go with an Underwoodisaurus milii, I remember that a 90x45x45 Exo Terra terrarium was just...
Herping weekend SA
Hi all, was bored on Friday night on facebook, talking to a few mates, and a herping trip was mentioned. Next minute I was booking an early morning flight from Melbourne to Adelaide for the next day (27th July) and a return flight the following night (28th). It was the best...
Hey Guys/Girls

Any Info on Them Would be Great

or they are known as a ridge tailed monitor
Hi, I'm getting a thick-tailed gecko but before I do I'm worried about keeping it cool during hotter parts of the year. I've found out that they're pretty sensitive to temperatures around and above 28C.
I live in Cairns where temperature is pretty stable but gets to the mid 30s during the wet...

Hey everyone. I've been doing a fair bit of lurking on this forum lately and purchased my first gecko yesterday, so I figured it's time for me to make an appearance.
