    2014 so far...

2014 has been reasonably good to me so far in regards to the herping trips I have been on. I just wanted to show some of them off... although I'm quite the dreadful photographer. Regardless, here they are. Lucasium damaeum - beaded gecko. Nephrurus deleani - Pernatty knob-tailed gecko...

    Brown snake with black head??

Hi - I recently come across this snake and originally thought it was a copperhead but now I'm not so sure. It was approx 25cm long and in the Rylstone area of NSW. I've heard baby brown snakes can sometimes have a black head as well. Can anyone tell me what it was?

    SA weekend

Herping weekend SA Hi all, was bored on Friday night on facebook, talking to a few mates, and a herping trip was mentioned. Next minute I was booking an early morning flight from Melbourne to Adelaide for the next day (27th July) and a return flight the following night (28th). It was the best...

    A South Aussie Weekend.

With the Uni holidays winding up, and my need to find herps still far from itched, I decided on spending a week in beautiful, sunny, warm South Australia. I flew over on a tuesday and spent the week catching up with the numerous (almost too many) family members I have in Adelaide. After...

    Some SA herping...

Just thought I'd show off some of the photos i've taken of local, SA herps over the past ten or so years. I am not a photographer - don't expect perfect photos. This is by far, not everything I have seen but these show some of the animals where I managed to have a camera (not a great one I might...

    Baby Snake

I found this on the Eyre Highway somewhere between Balladonia and Caiguna in W.A. I think it's a Black Headed Mallee Snake, but I'm not sure.

    Bush's Hooded Snake

Hi guys, Bush's Hooded Snake (Suta spectabilis bushi Storr, 1988) is only known from 5 specimens (holotype: WAM R66626) collected from Scaddan, north of Esperance here in WA. Brian Bush lists it as possibly extinct on his website (see references). I'm currently compiling a database of all...

    Some ID help...

Not having any ID books with me at the moment, I'm a little baffled by three species. I'm by no-means an expert identifier of Skinks or Elapids so if anyone can confirm what they are, I'd appreciate it. Thanks all.

    Backyard Herps

Reptiles found within your fence line! How many are out there and we just don't notice them? Post your pics and let's start counting... A friend of mine found this big girl next to her back veranda the other day. After awhile, she captured and took her down the road to some bushland to let her...
