ive been asked a question on another site and as i honestly dont know the answer i thought i would ask it in here

Chatten. I am fishing for advice. I have a colony of Geckos living under fridge/ freezer in the kitchen. Do you know if bombing out the house for cockies and fleas will harm them?

The active ingredient is Permethrin 25:75. I note that this insecticide is used externally on Geckos for skin complaints. However they have no eyelids and I am concerned as what the mist will do to them even though Permethrin is a copy of natural occurring flowers.

thank you in advance

direct contact with them may dry their eyes out, im unsure to as what the biocumulation effect would be, but a suggestion would be to try small testing elsewhere in the house and pick up any dead cocckies lying around, if its a oce off im sure it would be fine, providing you dont over do it

im sure it would be a one off, perhaps if he puts the actual bomb in the lounge room or something it might not be so bad?

not sure about fleas but ill give him another suggestion for the cockies

Getting rid of a flea problem is difficult and you need to treat inside the house, outside the house and the pet itself.
Insect bombs will have a limited effect on fleas because it doesnt penetrate carpet and furniture very well so the fleas that have burrowed down are likely to survive.
To get rid of the fleas I'd suggest washing and drying the pets bedding, flea bath the pet, apply a flea product such as revolution, vacuum the house thoroughly (and wash the bed sheets etc if the animal has been on there). Fencing off outdoor areas where the pet often sleeps, or soaking those areas with water will drown the fleas. Brushing also helps as it removes flea eggs from the pets coat.

As for the permethrin question, Im not sure if that concentration will affect the geckoes - although personally I would be reluctant to set it off. If the fleas are the main issue then I would try the above method over just simply setting off a flea bomb because the flea problem will probably return within a couple of months

thanks souldoubt, honestly re reading this question im curious why they need to flea bomb as ive never seen them mention owning dogs or cats so i might ask them why they need to flea bomb

Once the cockys are gone the geckoes will be stuffed anyway! Thais why the're there!

Possibly because the “Mortein Do-It-Yourself Control Bomb Insect Killer” is also known as “Mortein Do-It-Yourself Control Bomb Indoor Cockroach & Flea Killer”.

i was thinking the same thing cement

mm never thought of it that way bluetongue though i got the impression he had fleas as well dont know why

anyway twice now i have posted an answer to him, both in the thread he did for me and in another thread he started asking the same questions, neither of which he has acknowledged he got the info i posted so now im not going to bother anymore

even gave him some natural ways to get rid of the cockies

the geckos will leave if there is no food. or is that the idea? just get the geckos in a click clack and move them outside and night, bomb the house then the next day put them back after vaccuming.. if there is no food they will move on yeah?

VERMEX DEATH RAY CHEMICAL CORPORATION PRODUCTS

avoid!

One day you'll get the joy of cane toads, they can clear a house of cockies in 24 hours. A point not lost in remote communities.
