My ten month old Red Ackie is 26cm long and about 2.5 cm's thick in the middle.

Is this undersize?

Oh, and what meats can they eat?

Your ackie's size sounds about right,
It is the size that it should be,
Like all goannas they have a veracious appetite,
That doesn't mean it will eat a tree,
But it does mean it will eat fish guts, eye balls and tripe,
though i'd stop at feeding it a bee.

They can eat rabbit,
Be careful it doesn't become a habit,
And they consume mice,
To us it would be like rice,
No reason they couldn't eat mutton,
Mince it and roll into a meat button,
If he is hungry enough i'm sure he'd like bat
But after digestion he'll make a mess on the heat mat!
For a treat it would like pheasant,
I've tried it it's quite pleasant,
Occasionally you could use bison
Which would be very appropriate if his name was Tyson,
But most importantly don't feed him cat!
The folks from PETA wouldn't like that!
