Hi ... this is my first post here and firstly, thank you for all the good advice and help on this forum.

I recently got 2 Jungle Pythons, both around 3 months old (1 male, 1 female) - being kept separately.

Both have a habit of constantly sleeping day and night - occasionally coming out for a few minutes then heading back to their hide boxes.

They've both fed well 4 days ago.

I'm just wondering how long it usually takes before they pass their food?

And is it normal for them to be sleeping so much? (I'm a night-owl and haven't noticed them out much at night, although they venture out for a couple of minutes so long as the lights are out).

They both seem fairly calm although I haven't tried to handle them yet. I want to make sure they're settled properly first.

They're in small click-clacks, about a third on a thermostat controlled heat mat, with an average temp of 28-30oC.

Any advice greatly appreciated :)

id bump the heat up to 30-32deg. they normally pass their feed in 4 or 5 days. jungles are nocturnal, so its common that they will sleep through the day. their young snake so a small bit of activity is probably tiring for them. they will become more active as they get older

yes mine were very timid at 1st to..they grow out of it and become curious eventually.thats when the love nips start hehe

hey mate,
i just got my baby jungle. she took 2 weeks to relieve herself. if its worrying you just give them a little soak in some warm water, check with thermometre as not to exceed 32. that should help them as i just bathed mine and straight away she did her deed. seems a bit low on temps as suggested. and mine doesnt usually come out until 2-6 in the morning unless shes hungry.. hope it helped

Thank you - that's reassuring.

I guess I'm just being paranoid because they're new and I want to make sure everything's good :)
