Just got home from a night in the emergency department at the local hospital. I've been bitten on the arm by a white tail!! I've known since I was younger that I was allergic to bee stings so I would react to a number of other things but tonight got me wondering... If I was bitten by a colubrid or even an elapid would I have a more severe reaction then others?? Anyone out there that is allergic to bee's found anything else they have allergies from?

Most likely yes. If you intend to deal with venomous snakes you should invest in an Epipen and always carry your mobile..

Did anyone actually see the whitetail, or was it diagnosed purely on symptoms?

I didn't see it as I was in bed sleeping but doctors are "guessing" that it was

Same thing happened to me when i was about 13, i was playing back yard cricket with the boys & when i reached in the garden for the ball, i was bitten on top of my pointer finger. Within minutes my finger was swollen like you wouldnt believe! After a trip to the hospital, where they done all kinds of icky things, they said it was a white tail bite & im still missing part of my finger.....15yrs later!
