Hey everyone, I took my nephew fishing today in Sydney. I tried Port Botany and Kurnell with no luck, then headed to Como and just fished off the warf on dark.

Tons of bream there, I only had some crappy plastics which were nibbled up once but they ate around the hook -.- I was just wondering if anyone knew of a decent lure for bream that I could pick up at BCF?

Keen to go back tomorrow :) Not looking at keeping anything, just fishing for fun.

Cheers and a happy new year! Oh, did anyone watch Maddo's jump beside that snow mobile dude Levi Lavelle today? I was surprised that the sled flew further than the bike. Oh well, he'll crack 400' next year :D

KR i find botany very hit and miss for bream. If im after bream ill hit the harbour around any structure and seem to do alright. Gulp 3"minnows, grubs, shrimp or camo worms do alright in the soft plastics. For hardbodies, blades do ok, but have more success on the sx40's. Also had success on the berkley MF50 with bream.

I normally fish with 4-8lb braid with around 2m of 4lb fluro leader when using lures, and find i get more bites than when im using heavier line.

As for maddo's jump it was awesome to see. I visit a forum his old man is on and this is what he posted not long after the jump

Maddo had to short-shift to keep traction at the bottom of the in-ramp, subsequently giving the little 450 too much to do in 5th gear. All good though, he went 392' at Fontana last week and broke the unofficial world record there. Guinness were there tonight and he pushed the GWR out to 378' from 351'.

as for the sled the increase in inertia from weight kept it flying faster through the air. Levi's sled. 800cc cross plane crank, D.I. 2T twin, no clutch, computer controlled CVT via a reducing cones system and 15" drive belt. 205hp at 8500rpm! Makes full HP at all times via the CVT. Hits 160km/h in 300m on snow

Cheers Dangles, not much of an idea of what you said but I'm going to do some research tonight and go back over the next few days :D, I'll look into the lures you mentioned! Have you tried out at Como? I thought it would be pretty dead, but my nephew lives in Sutherland so we decided to drop a line in there. Not a whole lot of luck, definitely some bites but they were jumping all the time.

Bloody hell, that sled is insane, it would pull a wicked 60 foot time! Would the forum be freestylemtx? Pretty sure his old man is on there. I would love to see maddo hit a nice set up in the dry. Have you seen Greg Byrds jump of WAY over 400ft? It wasn't counted because Guinness weren't there and it was kind of like a huge step down.
