...and see him with the Coastal Carpet hugging his  it was quite funny. While the presenter Stacey? (I believe that was her name) was holding one of the Bells Lace Monitor pair they had on the show? The Coastal was a beauty, quite large and with great stripes down along her body... :D
Great to see the reptiles being so well spoken about. Rove didn't even ask the usual silly question about "I hope it isn't 'poisonous'.." He said, "and the Coastal Python is not venomous?" :D

RE: anyone else watch

God damn.... Watch it every week, and the one time i miss it... They got reptiles on there.

Hey Judy :)

Yeah, we saw it. It was refreshing compared to the shows like 'the footy show' that put on a big act about how scared they are blah blah. Rove wasn't too bad at all.

The thorny devils were awesome! Rove seemed to have no problem with handling those. And I loved the huge lacey, I really want one :)

Yeah, it wasn't bad all round this time, I just usually feel p*ssed off when I see reptiles on talk shows, but this wasn't bad at all.

See later on in the show, Rove did an 'oprah', giving a massive trolley of quality toys to every member in the audience?

One thing I can't stand about Rove, everytime he has Ranger Stacey on, he always talks over her, so she can never get out what she wants to say, which is OK if your not interested in reptiles, but there are a lot of people wanting to get into reptiles who would of really appreciated being able to hear what she had to say!!
I think Rove hates not being the centre of attention continously!!!!!!

Why did keep prattling about the monitor eating people ?
Thought I saw her with a burtons legless aswell, could be wrong.

hahah yeaha i seen it how cute are the thorny devils i think i want a pair of them now does anyone know who has them or breeds them and what class licence do u need for them i reckon there so cute hehehe yeah i have to say i was getting sick of rove talking over her too it was annoying

alby unless your got a million ants to feed it every day good luck with that!

Extrmely rare and apparently difficult to keep because of their diet.

Awesome animals though love em too

Yep inny, the first animal she had out was a burtons. Awesome little lizard, looked great!

And yeah, those molochs are second to none thats for sure!!

?

They're actually very common and relatively easy to keep (although time consuming). People keep them in Melbourne (there's a picture of a Melbourne one in my gallery, unless I've removed it). I've heard they're being kept in Europe, but those stories could be false, along with 95% of everything reptile related we hear.

Awesome animals though love em

I couldn't agree more on that point :) Because of their diet I have no desire to keep them but they have my vote for 'world's most awesome lizard'.

Here are some Moloch pictures I've taken.

The top 2 pics Sdaji look like some cheesy space monster out of the old series of "lost in space" or "star trek" LOL

"roarrrrrr take me to your leeeaaaaddderrrrr!!!"

Great pics those!

How many ppl on this site keep them.. I mean in Oz thats all, and because of there diet there hard to keep.

I have plenty of ants around my house, i would just put him next to my cat food bowls and he would have a feast on his hands!!

Do they eat a particular ant?

Cheers Alex

Mad photos....I can't believe that I also missed Rove last night I never miss it hahaha

Apparently there are about six species of ant they feed on, and their distribution is linked to the distribution of those species.
In the Alice Springs Desert Park they put a bit of honey in the Moloch's outdoor enclosure and just wait. Some of the Devil's are kept insode - to feed those they get an old piece of termite mound, dribble honey all through it, wait until it's got lots of ants all over it and then just pick it up and put it straight into the cage.

They're actually very common

I think what Pugsly meant was "extremely rare in captivity".

:p

Hix

couldn't you simply get an ant colony going and keep them well fed but also put some of the ants food in the thorny devils cage(the ant cage and thorny cage would be connected) so the ants go and find it and get eaten.

cool lizards
