Just curious if we have any fishermen/women in here?

I do a fair bit myself, lure casting with hard bodies & soft plastics, bait fishing & seldomly troll when I get a friends boat. I recently moved to the south coast & am enjoying alot of fishing lately. At the moment Im spending my arvo's after work collecting live baits & fishing of a night. Waiting to find a decent 5m + boat of my own so I can have some offshore adventures.

Would love to try flyfishing again at some point.
Had no luck last time as I kept snapping leaders & losing tackle lol...

I'm a mad keen fisho ,i cant get enough of it ,i regularaly spend hours out on the water flicking lures around its always a rush when a fish smashes your lure , i love it.

Love it! Theres endless fishing down on the south coast, particulary the shoalhaven river, have done a bit down that way and if you like lure and fly fishing you will have a ball.
My favorite fishing is saltwater fly fishing, nothing like it. After that would have to be light tackle game fishing off the rocks, which is something else the south coast is awesome for.

I love it 2. I go alot 2 Geelong & Corio Bay for snapper.

Mad keen, though can't fish in bris much. Moving to gladstone for six months so the fishing lifestyle will be good there. A mate has a 6 metre boat up there too.

i love it!!! i went craying a week ago got a few big ones.... but mainly around here is just chacing the redfin or yellow belly... heard that the gummies are bitting down at port welshpool and rabbit island so im going to give my normal holes a hit in the next few weeks... other than that i need to do another trip to eden to fill my freezer with a few more sliemies.

Can't get out to fish enough. Although we don't have the pelagic (sp?) fish of the northern waters we have the biggest and best KG Whiting and Snapper in all of OZ. Had two boats, 1 x 17ft and 1 x 12 Ft tinny. Sold them both and now fish out of a friends boat.

yeah love it. once a year I try and get up to cape york and fish with a mate who runs a charter out of there. seafaris charters. awesome stuff. cpl of pics from my last trip up there

Fishing is great. My favourite is definetly saltwater fly... nothing like catching a 1m barra on such a light line! Too bad thats only happened to me once, heh heh.

I also enjoy casting lures for barra, mangrove jack, GTs and salmon. I absolutely hate trolling, its the most boring thing ever! Its a good way to catch barra, but I prefer to be more active in my fishing!

Im lucky to live where I do, both the fishing and herps are great!!

I worked at a barramundi farm for a few months, and I must say it totally put me off eating fish, even the smell of fish makes me feel sick! That kinda spoils fishing a bit for me, but I still cant get enough of it!

Dave and I love fishing. Caught a few Callop(Yellowbellies) and a couple of Redfin(which we haven't seen for years and years - best tasting fish in the Murray besides Catfish(which we now have to release Grrrr!). Don't have much time to get over to the Penninsula for any Crabbing and Fishing(Sea) worse luck. Hope to have a weekend away sometime over the summer before the Crabs go off eh?

as an avid marine aquaiumist i love to go fishing in the ocean! whenever i am up at lismore i go yabbing and catch some fish. mainly for i can take a good look at em! i enjoy alos looking at all the other interesting things that live on the shoreline(glass shrimp gobies etc). hell i spent one arvo in the childrens swimming bath thing caught myself some interesting things, shrimp, gobies, a very interesting black and white striped fish etc

garry that second fish the big one looks awsome, what i would give to have a massive fish tank to keep on of em!

poor old murry cods. the owner of this mudbrick paints and wood stains etc place near the stockfeed where i work has a 200 or 300 gallon tank with an adult female trout cod. she is part of the NFA's breeding and restocking program. beautiful fish, you couldn't pay me to eat one of em. i rarely eat fish at all!

Hey bikie, if the Murray Cod are too big they really taste like $hit! Those big ones taste like mud eh? Callop(Yellow Belly) taste the same if they are big and fatty too. Don't forget to take out the the fatty bits when you are cleaning your Yellow Bellies. That is just a little fatty looking bit you can see at the bottom of your fillets ok? Leave em in and they taste very yucky!. Cheers Cheryl

love my fishing lure's all the way my fav spot is up at big river but i also love using the soft baits down at patto river near me for the bream i try and get out at least twice a week going out on a mates boat this week over night to try and get a few big reds :D

lol yer i know. we get them all the time and learnt about the fat real quick only been getting them around 5-8 pound so there is quite a bit of fat.(theres heaps in a power stations cooling dam) still dont like them as much as the redfinn

Only 5 to 8lb.??? LOL! Redfin are our faves! Bugga the Callop(Yellowbelly). Would be nice to be able to keep some Catties now and again tho. They are even better than Redfin. Cheers Cheryl

I love my fishing, fresh water, salt water, lures, bait, jigs, flies, all the way from catching guppies in a creek to game fishing. Infact my last job was a tuna fisherman. Here's a pic of a murray cod I managed to catch about a month ago, I don't know how he would have tasted as I let him go after the pic cod are to cod to catch once.
