Lots of small businesses out there that can help depending on what you want to do.
I have developed a few apps for work and theres alot of things that go into creating an app for a smartphone or tablet and its not just as easy having an idea so be prepared for lots of questions when you approach someone. Have a browse on Google on creating apps and it will give you an idea on what actually goes into creating, supporting and marketing an app.
The above is not to put you off, its just to give you a heads up on what you may experience.
