Excellent shots! so hard to get good photos of fish especially clown fish they never stop moving!

Love Marine aquariums! Keep em coming

i definatly prefer photographing the frogs than the stuff in the fish tank, way easier.

yes that is an amphiprion ocellaris or "NEMO", lol.

forgot to post image discriptions, so here they are:

pic #1: colony of zoanthid, a soft coral.
pic #2: Clownfish with the Brown Button Polyps he hosts in the background
pic #3: Bad picture of my red mushroom coral that i really should cut in half.

and i am pretty sure you know what pic 4 is,

andrew

Ive got a bunch of different mushrooms but my polyps always seem to die after 6 or so months..

I dont cut them in half they just spread themselves somehow!

do you know what type of coral it is? i recomend you check out www.masa.asn.au/rtaw/ubbthreads.php , its like aussie pythons cept marine aquariums.

well hes been in there for a while just to lazy to split, so the moment i find myself a scalpal SLICE! already recently fragged my brown button polyp so if anybody wants some just drop by and i will happily give you some for free.

Love the marine pics, nice cearulea too! :D

Pugsly are you feeding the corals, enough light?

yeah ive had different types of zooanthids in there..

a good site for marine is www.reefs.org, excellent forum

na i dont think enough for those corals.. only basic lighting, ive been setting up a 4x2x2 marine for a little while now with 700watts on the top (metal halides) then the will be right!

well since we're posting pics of aquariums here is a pic of my reef that I just pulled down in the last few months.I know I've posted it before but any excuse......

Thats a happy looking frog :) GTF's are great animals aren't they.

Hi. I've just joined the web site. I started out with a Marine Aquarium but I found the fish didn't last long and I got sick of changing the salt water. The Marines lasted about 1 year. Then I converted to tropical. It was much easier to handle - just did water changes from the tap (via a filter) and the fish never died. Eventually I decided I wanted a change so I gave all the fish away and I've converted it into a snake tank. I took out all the bracing and put in an under tank heater to keep the warmth up and now I have a jungle and a centralian. A change from the fish but still a good feature in the house. The kids love the snakes. The wife not so much when they are out of the tank.

Yeah it is hard trying to take pics of the clownfish . Dad used to always be trying to get good pictures when he used to breed them a few years ago but most of the time they came out blurry. (i will have to find some of the good ones a post them )

what lighting do you have and how far away are the corals from the light. try moving them upwards on the rockwork. 700watts of mh on a 4 x 2 x 2. i would have thought 2 x 250watt halides would be sufficient.

BUCK! got any zoos? man i am going to be nocking on your door if i ever get an sps tank up and running!

thansk for the compliments guys

andrew

Love that reef Buck, ny inverts? :D

Welcome aboard Bitesndsqueeze! :D

here is a pic of my reef that I just pulled down in the last few months.

As I said I no longer have it running. The tank had 3x400w halides so that along with the pumps etc. was costing me a fortune to run.

Instar, mostly just stuff that came on the live rock. A few different crabs and shrimps, urchins, brittle starfish etc.

I do miss it though...... but the tank will look awesome when the Ackies are big enough to go in there.
