I just brought my brand new babie beardies home....
put them in their enclosure (annoyed coz my brand new 75watt bulb blew as soon as i turned it on, so there is a 40w in there for now)
and i was wondering about feeding....
i put a few crickets in for them....
and they were completely not interested!
is this normal?
any tips for feeding if it isnt?

Feed them tomorrow, let them settle in.

There is a chance the breeder fed them already today.

Yep they'll take a couple of days to settle in .Check temps to and adjust Asap if needed back to a higher wattage globe. Theres no harm in offering them just don't leave any crickets in at night

its prob got something to do with the heat whats the temps like?maybe there not used to their home yet?are they active? what i do when my lizards arnt feeding (its worth a try) is just put 1 at a time in some kind of container and leave them out in the sun for a bit with the crix.
hope that works
oh and take the crix out cos at night the crix will nibble on their head while their sleeping

okay... one is eating, and is a HUGE pig.... chasing the roaches everywhere and chowing down.

the other just doesn't move....
just sits there, even had a roach crawling on its chin....
is this normal?
what can i do?

given one just ate their food for 2 on his own, i guess he is settled, so why one and not the other?

There not the same lizard, both will have different personality's, just chill and let them relax :p He will be eating in no time;)

i put about 12 baby roaches into a plastic container, then put that in the enclosure....
fatty went mental!
the other one didn't seem to notice they were alive.

on a side note, whats the best way to feed them?
i know too much handling is bad (or any) so i shouldnt feed them in another enclosure, but i cant leave the roaches in the enclosure coz they hide under things and are too small for me to catch!

so what do i do?

You need some Teflon or Fluon - paint it around the top of a small chinese food container and put the roaches in that. They can't climb past it, and therefore, can't run around your enclosure...

The paint can be bought from a few of the online reptile suppliers...

how do the dragons get in and out to eat them....

i tried that, and while it was funny watching the fatty attack the plastic, he didnt get to eat till i picked him up and put him in the tub

Stick the roaches in the fridge for 10 minutes then chuck them in with some vegies .Slows down the roaches and with time will teach the beardys the bowl is a food source
