Baby turtles - going on holiday suggestions?

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has been in the same situation.

I have 3 baby turtles which are about 3 months old. I am going on holidays for a week and was wondering if anyone has any good suggestions on what to do with feeding them??

Catch alot of small freshwater fish from a dam.

They will catch them when they are hungry, thats what happens in the wild.

I do have a lot of feeder fish in the tank at them moment. It is actaully really good as they are breeding so their are a few smaller ones. They turtles haven't really eaten many so far, but i guess if they get really hungry they will. I have plants in the tank as well for my Kreffts.

Shortnecks arnt real good at catching fish. Small insect larvae, snails and shrimp seem to be much easier for them to catch. Im not sure if krefts that small would be eating plants already either.

You could also leave some dry food on the land and they can eat it as they want it.

I am going to see if a friend can come and stay to feed them, i dont want to risk it.

They are starting to try and eat the plants, but not sure how successful it is at this point.

I would hate to come home and something to have happened, i wouldnt be able to deal with that. They dont touch the snails so far, but they love frozen shrimp and blood worms, i may be able to add some live ones to the tank for something a bit extra.

Hi, I'm going away next month for 2 weeks an am in the same position regarding my baby turtles. I've decided to move the entire tank to a friend's house so she can sit them there. It will be a pain, but I'd rather make it easier for her than risk them getting hungry or in to any trouble.

We have now sorted it all out!!! Yay, i feel so much better, we have my boyfriends brother moving in to look after them while we are away. All is good, i dont need to stress.

Wow aqua - moving the whole tank - how big is the tanks???
