Someone mention in a post about bandages with a visual pattern that is used for creating the right tension.
Tried my local chemist and got a blank "huh" (it pays to wait till way after methadone time).
Can someone steer me in the direction of a brand name or chemist chain that stocks these.
Cheers
Craig

Sure it was on this site. Fuscus will find it
Bryony, the elastic compression bandage we carry for snake bite. Read somewhere that there was a new one out that when stretch to the correct tension a pattern of squares appears as a visual clue.

Mags, thinking of buying a carton  But I've yet to talk to put the idea over the treasurer of one group and the president of the other :D

Also, on the bandage front. dont carry around one of
those bandages that sticks to itself. TThey degrade
and when you need it it will let you down.
There is sprain bandage on the market that has a
small rectangle on it at something like 300mm
intervals. When applied at the right tension the
rectangles stretch to form squares. I would recommend
this one.

Peter Buckley on australianherps :)

Oh, by the way I spoke to the president who spoke to the treasurer and they said go for it :)

No I won't :(
I have had a look and can't find anything about bandages with visual indicators.
If it is of any help, you should wrap a bandage as tight as you would for a sprained ankle.
If you haven't had a sprained ankle yet, it might be a good idea to go out and sprain one.

On second thought, maybe it isn't such a good idea .

Hot Hot Heat.

I got a pack from the chemist which contains two long pressure bandages and a ice pack, one of those one you crack and they go cold. Good for the fishing bag.

Cheers Fuscus,
These are for supplying to Joe Public - thought the addition of this pattern would help them get it right with minimal explanation.
I'll shall check with PB and post any results
