Hi all, thankyou to those people who dont bully others, to the rest of you, like my mother always said, if you haven't anything nice to say, shut up.

Everyone has a right to their opinion on any subject

However, when you make it personal and start calling people names - idiots, liars, dishonest, fools - and or ridicule them for not knowing something you know, you sound really petty and cruel.

Im not going to name any names, or situations, but people, please think about the affects you are having on people you don't even know when you are chatting in public forum.

Well I am looking forward to see how you handle a situation when someone attacks both personally and professionally something you are passionate about in a public forum. In an ideal world none of us is proud of having to get down and get a little grubby and I am always willing to learn new tips. Some people use the net as a release from the days hard slog, some use it as an information highway - whatever we get from the net always has a human element in it because we're all self promoting and full of opinions.
I learnt a while ago that EVEN if something is on an official looking website - it's not necessarily true!! (lol, clever me)

I apply that to any information site. lol.
Not disbelieving - but learning to take most comments with a grain of salt is a good method because there are so many more things in this horrible world to worry about without taking on more useless negativity.

I like the honest forthright approach and I like to say sorry when I've overstepped - I don't expect that from everybody, we have so many different backgrounds, family lives, job pressures and catalysts that drive us, along with bad days and emotions.

We're all faulty humans - Let's try to be tolerant.

While it would be nice if there was no bickering or arguiing or name calling I think it would also make for a dull society. One of the things that makes a lot of topics interesting is the conflict that comes with it. I agree that we should endeavour to keep things from becoming personel, but I think the reality of the situations is that it will never be. Instead I think it is a situation that we have to try and live with it or move on ourselves. It is just an unfortunate fact of life that when people feel they have been made to look wrong or silly they come out attacking in any way possible and usually this is by getting personel. Unfortunate? - Yes. Stopable? - No

One of the things that makes a lot of topics interesting is the conflict that comes with it.

I totally agree, debate is not only healthy but informative and you can learn a lot from different peoples opinions.

However, if someones opinion is opposite to yours, i dont beleive anyone has the right to degrade that person intentionally, especially not in public forum....
