ive got a 4 ft enclosure completely set up and looking to purchase my first bearded dragon. is that a big enough size for two? and if so what are the negatives of housing two bearded dragons together (hoping to mate) because ive heard a lot of stories that they fight and eventually end up killing each other. is there any way to over come this or any alternative ideas? some advice would be greatly needed thanks :)

i wouldnt house the 2 together permatly as the male will hasle the female alll the time for some lovin...

i house both of mine in a 4ft tank they hav never had a fight and the male just sits under the light my female is pregnant atm we think

i keep hearing two sides to it and not sure what to do :S will the female get annoyed with that? cause im fine with over breeding

In the end it depends on the pair you have. In most cases males and females can be kept together permanently, however if you end up getting an overly enthusiastic male that continuously harasses the female you will need to keep them separately. So my advise is to keep them together, but observe them and how they behave towards each other and be aware that there is a chance that you might end up needing to separate them.

'Cause you're fine with over breeding???????????????

You're fine with being the cause of your female Beardies health & stress problems???????

Gees u know, it's not about the money. It's about the interest & the love & the care.

Maybe the best advice u can get is not to get any beardies Fullstop.

u could get another cage or some hatchys so they grow up together but u will still have to seperate in the future

Yea i dont think its the best idea to get more than one beardie in an enclosure that size. But dont be discouraged wait untill you have enough money to buy another enclosure so you can keep two and hopefully breed them. Also if you want us to take a look at the enclosure feel free to post some pictures!

im planning to upload some pics sometime this week to get some positive feedback on my first cage :)
thanks all

Over breeding is a problem. Measures should be taken to prevent the stress and possibly death (I have known it to happen) that over breeding can cause.

Ditto?? Lollypop that is.

Obviously not - I live in the 'unreal world' of considering the health of the animal before the wants of the owner - sorry about that, I really must change my outlook on life - not:|
