i just had my 4th light blow just now in 2 years, what glob will be best to use ? use red light and purple night glo glob. and i turn it on and off my self.

A lot of people have 4 globes blow in 4 months. I think you have been lucky. If it's only for a night light then try blue party globes, I found they last longer than the moonglow globes. But 2 globes a year isn't worth getting hot under the collar about

i use the 50W exo terra red globes, all are over 12 months old, some are 18 months+, never had an issue with them blowing. i run them with a dimming thermostat also.

what are u trying to do with the above globe ? use it as a heat source - or as a viewing globe for night time ?

o yeah wish mine lasted that long i have 6 bulbs on in dif tanks and i have 3 spare per size wish i didnt need the spare but always good to keep up a stock

yeah they last about i have had four over the 2 years, and i use it as a heat sauce i use the heat mat at night as my place is warm inside. and now i have found a cheap place for the bulbs now so i'll stock up on them.

wow i wish bulbs last that long your doing very well cant to do any better then that from a incandescent heat source

give me a month and i am lucky not to be buying globes for one thing or another just when i think the globes are working fine pffft globe breaks and i am at the shop buying new ones.

for those that are blowing bulbs what thermostat are you all using? and are you running them 24/7 or day only? the only time i start losing a bulb or two is when i start cooling and the bulbs are switching on/off. this year i have not blown a single bulb.

when my collection was at its biggest i was running 16 enclosures with bulbs, and again rarely replaced them before 12 months. some were only replaced because i thought they were getting old and will probably blow.

yeah at least some people can see i know my stuff but most just judge me , i check heat and all each day check bulbs and all about 5 times a day.
