Just after peoples opinions on the best way to sell a car.
Privately - Prob the best price but a bit of a hassle.
Auctions or dealer - Less hassle = less money.

What about the best place to advertise if going private sale? Have people had much luck with carsales website or maybe Ebay or Gumtree.

Personal experiences more than welcome. :)

Depends on the type of car. If it's a decent car that would spark the interest of a car enthusiast (Skyline, WRX, S15 etc) then a car forum would be the best because the people that want it would be looking all the time and it's free to list.

If it's a regular car then put it everywhere. Cars sell everywhere if they are priced correctly. Even if it's a daily driver, it would be OK to post it on an enthusiast forum, as they often want a comfortable daily as a change from their sports car.

Nothing to special, is just a boring Falcon. Looks like a reps or detectives car.

Put it on fordmods, can't post links I don't think, but that should be enough for you to find it, haha.

What model is it and how much mate?

When I sell a car, I check out the redbook price, look at private sale and trade in price and then offer it at a value between the two. Based on that value, your car would be worth about $8500. When I use this value, I usually sell my car very quickly.

i just throw it on the highway with all the other cars for sale, sold a few cars this way and they sold within the weekend :) in saying that i didnt put a stupid price on it

word of mouth around your friends/family then theres all the car websites ebay, gumtree etc

You may find it hard to sell a family car at this time of year, too. So don't get discouraged if you sit on it for a while.

Gumtree works, if you can put up with the constant texts at random times from scammers lol.

Just got one. Ad has only been up for a couple of hours and they are already offering $700 above asking price, I suppose they want me to send it to Nigeria as well??????

Pro tip: Turn off your phone when you go to bed, you'll get replicas of the exact same message but diff emails at all hours of the morning.
