I am finding out that Aps is much nicer place with out me moderating.
Looks like our new moderators are doing excelent job.

Well at least I admit it.

Since I left and new mods applied strict policy to troublemakers, we lost few members, but we have les abusive posters.
I am starting to enjoy read posts and get more involved again.
Well done moderators.

To be moderator on this site, you have to be mature person with lot of tolerance. Mods get lot of unfair abuse from some people.
Mods are watching people posts and if they think that somebody is suitable, they aproache the person with invitation to mods team.
Usually only long time members are offered the job.

Our main person in charge is David Lutz (lutzd), His team is; Greebo, Africancichlidau, Peterrescue, Agamidae.
We have another 2 mods not so much active at the moment.

That's true, we lost a couple members but most of them were people that only posted about how much they didn't like the way the site is run. Makes you wonder why they kept coming back at all. I guess now that these posts are no longer allowed, they have nothing left to say.
The site is starting to pick up again and at least most of the threads are now reptile related. I havent had to do any moderating for over a month now and to quote Ben Lee "That's the way I like it."

I think that all of the mods have been doing well. AND I am glad the site is still here.

The Internet is a strange and bizzare place.

Getting the balance of moderation right for a site like this is what makes it work. Just look at some of the sites which are a free for all. Eventually the people whose posts are worth reading move away and you get left with a bunch of nasties perpetuating a slanging match.

I think your little baby is coming along fine Slaty. Stepping back from the moderater role has probably also meant stepping back from a lot of angst and stress. The role of moderator is not for everybody. Some people thrive on it and others are better at other things ;-)

And Moose... You would not have half as much fun as a moderator. You are much better off being a stirer :lol:
