Hey everyone,
I just had out my BHP's, and i noticed something a little odd. One of them has a darker tinge appering on the white patches, on the top half of its body. My other one has similar, but only on the top. We think they arent getting enough sunlight, as they are in temperary enclousers atm. Should i be worried? it feels fine, i was rubbing the patches and it feels no different. The are approx 9 months and 130cms.

Thanks for your time everyone, Ant

Without seeing any photos it would only be a guess...Have you only just noticed it recently...

BHP's do require approx 8 - 10 hrs of UV light per day and a reasonably high temp during daylight summer hours and no heat at night as they originate from the Pilbara/ Kimberely regions where there is extremely high temps during the day and low temps at night. Pics would be great if you can post some.

they are heated to around about 35 degrees through the day, and these temps drop over the night, not bye much tho...the currently have no light directly on them as i am currently building new enclouseres

Not having a go here but do you have any evidence that proves this? my girl is nearly 2 and has had about 20mins uv her whole life and is perfect. they get calcuim from the bones of pray, which is what they would get from the sun(calcium) they dont really need it imo.....(the sun)

My bhp has had night temps below 20 about 3 times in the last 6 months otherwise all warm. Kimberly is not desert area. It's more tropical.

Maybe I should install an air con for him?
