Just watched Jeff Corwin in Venezuala catching anacondas. They are so fat and sluggish, one of them weighed 100kg. Their heads are huge: he reckons they could fit their jaws around a human being. Does anyone know if people in North America breed and keep them?

There are a few breeders in the US, and even more keepers. They are about $300 for CBB animals, and less for WC. I see them in most reptile shops. I have a huge problem with this, as it only takes a few hundred bucks to own the biggest snake in the world! No other requirements!

I agree with you Jeremy, I have the same thoughts on some state laws in Australia allowing people to keep crocs. (NO, I am not re-igniting this age old debate and won't be responding either, its been done to death)
