:x Had some major dental work today, had a wisdom tooth extracted that had broken off. reqiured sevral vials of novacain. It had to be dug out out of my jawbone. Im pretty sure the guy was a mechanic, moonlighting as a dentist, and to go by the tools, he brought the wrong toolbox! No pain as such during the proceedure (might have had to do with a certain part of his anatomy i had in my closed fist at the time LOl  ) but after the novacain wore off...OUCH! My face is still swollen and bleeding now. Thank god for novacain though.
I swear he was using standard pliers at one point, and another tool that looked like a screwdriver, I could feel the impacts as he dug away, all the while humming a tune to himself.
After this i have all the more compassion for vens, encountering ray hoser i can tell you.
I realise this has little to do with snakes, but thanks for listening to my little whinge anyway.

Hey Instar, change dentists to a young pleasant looking female dentist(I did  ). It has been proven that men feel less pain when being treated by females.Don't ask me who proved it, I read it and quickly accepted it as truth.

try having all 4 wisdom teeth done at the same timeplus the bottom 2 in front of the wisdom teeth and part of your jaw bone shaved off,

now thats fun

Well Afromate I've found the dentist of my life and will never leave her til I find a better one.

Lol Parko, yeah but my "insurance" might be seen as sexual assult in that case.
actually, your right, i had a front tooth crowned today too, by a woman, and surprisingly it didnt hurt. might have been the "veiw" was distracting as she lent over me. lol

 Greg, your kidding arnt you? who was he? John wayne?

Oh Sarahbell, OUCH!!!!! My deepest understanding and compassion. you poor girl.

Come to think of it , Slateys Firewater would have come in very handy!

I dont know where Parko is coming from in his point of view but I have been where Instar was. Its not fun. Ended up with a bruise on my chest. I have had experience with a woman dentist Parko and she was great, Very calming. especially the way she held you head still between her very ample bosum. while she worked. Ah!
Peter
Sorry Only fond memory I've ever had of a visit to the dentist.

You can get rid of the fir with regular brushing Soulweaver.

:( i think i have to get my wisdom teeth taken out :(

i hate dentists...they is evil ALL OF EM

i want a GA to get it done lol...last time i was at the dentist the nurse was IN TRAINING and failed to suck any of the water that they squirt in back out! so i had a pond in my mouth and couldnt swallow...although i did try once and spluttered it on the dentist i think lol.

instar i've seen many a dental done while working at the vet and bryony will agree that some of those tools look exactly like screwdrivers and pliers lol. watching them grab a hold of a tooth with the plier type thingies and pull...*shudder*

The biggest pain about going to the dentist for major dental work is when you find out that your Insurance doesn't cover the $2400+ work they carry out, I mean, how many snakes could that have bought me? LOL!

Neil

I was a bit anoyed that when he finished, I shook his hand and said "thanks mate, good job".
I was comfortably numb at the time. A few hours later might have been very different! lol
