Blue Tongue Problems

I just got a new blue tongue lizard from the pet shop... He was really friendly at first and would sit with me and hang out and was pleasant... I put him in his new enclosure and left him for an hour or so, then the nightmare began... I tried to pick him up and he became really angry and agressive trying to bite me and hissing non stop... I would turn the light in my room off and he would try and bite and then back on and he would try and bite... What is wrong with him, is it just because he is not used to his new enclosure??? He apparently has never bitten or arcked up before... He seems very upset... What do I do??? He has food, heat lights, a hidy hole, a warm end of the enclosure and a cooler end, he has water and rocks to climb on... I am not sure what to do as I am very inexperience and my other lizard is cruisy... It has never arked up or bitten or even looked like biting...

if you got him not long ago let him settle in before you try to handle him much. my 1st lizrd did the same ting and is now a lovly little guy

from the blueys perspective, he's been taken away from his short term "home" (petshop, not much of a home), put into a foreign place and a massive creature is trying to grab him, him cornered in the enclosure = easy lunch for any predator

second the motion of let him settle for abit, then re-introduce yourself as a harmless keeper and positive association like feeding

Treats.fresh fruits,veggies hand feeding mealworms?get into his heart via his stomach.let him settle,then make him special with treats.it might work if you just call his bluff as well.

ive tried some of the things you guys have suggested... I called his bluff and got him out of the enclosure and had him hanging out with me, then i went and got him some food then when i came back he arcked up at me again... He wont eat and is still very upset... I have him settled for a little bit then as soon as I let him roam he arcks up... He is so upset and angry...
