Good thread Jack... :D

I mostly like reading non fiction, but don't mind a bit of fiction from time to time too. The non fiction stuff I like is mostly historical...Australian pioneers, early colonial life re: convicts, bush rangers. The holocaust and it's survivors and how they survived. The European Nazi resistance movement. The men and women of our Allied forces, particularly during WW 1 and 2. The lives of British and European monacrchs...the older ones not the present day ones. Queen Victoria and her family and before then. I read a great book once about the history of shoes. :) As far as fiction goes, I don't mind a good murder mystery, preferably 18th century era where the ladies wore long dresses and men rode proud horses....the rich were very rich and the poor were very poor..... :) At the moment I'm not reading anything.

Oh, Dont worry now, this post is okay, not being deleted, oh well, Basically just cleaning up the old one, Lol, And ah, the holocaust, always good to read stories about Prisoners of war, got a few things in my grandmothers place about enemy jails, very interesting

My husbands grandfather was a Jew and when he was 19 he escaped from Poland ... that was before WW2 ...and he went to live in England and married an English...Gentile (non Jewish) girl. They had 13 children, one of them was my husbands mother. My mothers brother was with the RAAF in WW2 and was a wireless operator in a Lancaster bomber, he was stationed in England and was shot down and killed on 21/6/1944 going on a raid to Germany. He was only 24. That's the reason I'm interested in that era.

Alot of history there Annie, That stuff just makes me wonder... it makes me wonder why humans are so DUMB... but wars are interesting aswell for the historical value
