Normally I don't take these things seriously but a mate of mine just got a warning about these popping up in Sydney.
Usually I just file it under 'Urban Legend: Caution', but given there are a lot of parents on here and this actually does sound dangerous I thought I'd pass it along, just in case.

Basically what's been going on is kids have been making bottle bombs from [edited: illicit substances available from your friendly hardware store/supermarket] and leaving them in front yards. The things go off when disturbed and explode with enough force to take off fingers, etc.As I said I usually don't take these seriously, but this could possibly work and I don't like to think I heard of it and didn't warn anyone. I doubt I'd call the cops though, I'd probably just throw a stick at random empty bottles and look like a nutter in my front yard lmao, but anyway. If it's not real, fantastic. If it is I've done my part for all the four-legged pet owners and parents out there.
