3yo female Bredli was fed med rat xmas eve and she reguritated it within a few hours. We had a thunder storm that lasted an hour and thought this had upset her enough to cause regurgitation. (the thunder was the house shaking type and loud)

She is listless has not a great deal of strength and is refusing food, she is drinking! She does feel cold even though her enclosure temp is 26C cool end to 30/32C under the heat.

Cant get her to reptile vet until Friday :(

Any ideas what may be wrong with her and how we can help her in the meantime?

Thanks

managed to get her into vet in the morning :)

do you think she is deyhrated? if you pinch the skin and it stays up for a bit (few seconds) you can soak her to get her rehydrated luke warm water just like you would when they dont shed proply but put something in there like a rock in case she isnt strong enough to hold her head above the water.
good luck theres nothing worse than having a sick baby!

If she has regurgitated a rat, there is more to it than dehydration, a snake will still digest a rat even if dehydrated. I doubt it is heat related if your temps are true to what you have posted. However, I know this can happen with snakes that have gotten way to hot though, like in the region of high 30deg c temps. I would say it is a little more serious and would definately get her to a vet asap.

wait..30-32 under the heat?

And the problem with that is...??

30 in the hotspot is too cold. 32 Should be the very minimum you'd go for with a bredli- usually closer to 35, but anywhere up to 38 as long as the gradient remains, with the 'cold' end staying around the 25 mark.

the temp 30/32c I wrote for heat end is not directly under the heat ......didnt write that properly.
Its what the temp averages around on the back wall which is not directly under the lamp.

Gotcha. Temps sound good then..that's a shame, 'cause that was the easy option. May be any number of things then, but not much you can do until you've seen the vet.

just got back from vet and he has put her on Meloxocam injections which we must give her for a week. Said regurgitating may have caused some injury as she is tender in the stomach area and the pain is probably what is making her listless/floppy.

To try to give her a feed in a week and if she wont take it to take her back and he will do xrays etc.

So here's hoping all will be good by then :)
