Good morning folks. I have recently bought 2 Juvie Albino NT carpets just for the love of their nature and looks. If i breed them together will i get a 100% clutch of albinos???? and whats the thought of breeding the albino gene into a Stripped Coastal and has it already been done??

yes 100% will be albino, and to your 2nd question it has probably already been done?

albino x albino = 100% albinos

Im sure people are crossing the albino darwin with coastals.. not sure if any have actually been produced yet though. while personally not against crossing some morelia for a definite purpose I cant see an albino cross coastal being that different to the albino darwin so its not something Id be trying unless it did prove to be a totally different looking animal.

theres some great variations in albino darwins already with some striped and other colour/pattern variants.

striped albino I bred last season

Beautifull snake mate the photos just dont do the justice. Thanks Guys i was 99% sure i would get 100% albinos but just need the confirmation now on another topic who in australia is starting on lucistics and where can i start to look for info on lucistics in australian snakes

Well now your 100 % sure lusistics are very rare and worth hundreds of thousands of dollars each There are people working on them not sure If they have produced yet certainly not a lucistic darwin In this country anyway still a few yaers off

Leucistic as in the super form of jags appears to be fatal so it's likely they won't every be produced.
I think there are people working on reduced pattern albinos that I guess would be like a "false leucistic" if they managed to get no pattern. That's probably as close as we'll get

this pic of a leucistic (antaresia) has been floating around for some time.. I dont know anything about them or who has them so please dont ask me..

shunis I really dont mean to be rude or condescending ok but if you were'nt sure if you got albinos from albino darwin x albino darwin maybe your setting your sights (and wallet) a little high at this stage mate..

genetics can be a very complex subject.. theres some good information here The Learning Center - Genetics 101

I'd take leucistic childrens over albino maccys any day!

and why is everyone wanting to cross albino darwins with stripey coastals? why not breed an albino darwin with a stripey darwin???

Mo offence taken mate. ya dont ask you dont learn im just facinated by the fact they are pushing out Leucistic ball pythons i the states through dozens of different combinations but yet the only leucistic i have seen in australia wass deforemed and had kinks everywhere in it and probably died as all the other luccys he had produced died on birth.

as said earlier the leucistic carpet from jag x jag (the super form) is fatal and none I have heard of have survived.
I dont know much about ball pythons but have seen pics of the leucistic (super form) of the mojave ball python morph.

"flame suit on" what if you where to breed a ball python to a carpet both been "jag' would you get a leucistic that wouldnt die would that even be possible (yes i know ball pythons are illegal)??
just a question out of curiosity

You have to take into account that we probably wouldn't have as many breeders or any that really produce on the same scale of numbers as the big American breeders. The sheer amount of animals they pump out you're bound to run into the genes eventually.
