Buffy's friend Stimpy, the shingleback, has a strange bump on the end of his nose. It's been there before, but has gone away, now it's back again. We're not sure what it is, and Stumpy, his girlfriend and Buffy's best friend, has a similar yet smaller lump on one of her toes.
It feels neither soft, squishy, or hard.
It's not liquid beneath the skin, and it's not a tumor.
It's nothing to do with shedding, because it's still there once he's shed.
It's not due to him rubbing his nose against anything, as he has nothing in his enclosure that is rough or harmful enough to cause such a lump.

Does anyone have any idea as to what it might be, or does anyone have/know of a shingleback who has had a similar thing?

Here's a recent pic-

I wish I could help - does it cause them discomfort when you squeeze, or is it just like any other part of their body? He's a beautiful shingle, btw!

possibly a rostral abbrasian (but looks a bit high for that) - is their any wire or anything else it can rub against? or a sinus infection has their been any discharge ? does it appear after rain/increases in humidity?
hope this may help, heiniken may also have some ideas.

If you get any abnormal signs (discharge or growth) id take it to the vet and get a biopsy done. Could possibly be due to some form of parasite....hard to tell..

Nope, no discahrge, no opening in the scales or anything.
It doesn't get worse or better with/without rain. It's not really on the nose, but under the scales just above the nose opening.
And there's no wire or anything like wire in his enclosure for him to rub against. There's fake turf, but I doubt that would do it.

So none of you knew what was wrong with the shingleback. So now that I know, I figured I better let you all know in case something similar happens to someone elses.

The lump was already there when my friend bought the lizard. Turns out, it was a bone eating disease. The entire nasal passage on that side had been eaten away, and the lump was forming from a heap of pus and blood under the scales. The vet couldn't xray through the thick scales, so made a small cut and out came all the pus and blood, revealing what had happened.
There's nothing wrong with Stumpy now, apart from now and then the bump appears again. So you just squeeze his nose and out comes the pus, and it's back to normal again. A little uncomfortable for him, but he's fine once it's over with.
So now you all know what the cause is, has anyone heard of this before?
Also, how can you tell when a shingleback is pregnant?
