Since January of 2003 there have been Burmese Python sightings in the Florida Everglades. In February of 2004 a group of tourists climbed up to the Pa-hay-okee Overlook to find a Burmese Python in mortal combat with a native Alligator. The tourists were stunned to see the python wrap itself around the alligator only to be subsequently carried off in the alligator's mouth.
(And yes, one of the photos' is of a African Rock Python, and it's was photographed in S.Africa and therefore has nothing to do with the story but we are talking about the press here!)
