Hi Guys,
about 2hrs ago a bushfire started nextdoor!! The fire is heading our way too, I have just water down my roof, cleaned the leaves out of my roof-gutters, watered down my block. All that work in 35 degree heat when I have a fever of 38.3 :(. And now my entire house is covered in ash and ****, and I can barely breathe because there is so much smoke.
I managed to rescue 2 whipsnakes, a few dragons, some possum thingo, a wallaby and a goulds monitor before the fire became too hot/close. I am sitting at my window watching the fire anxiously and have my herps bagged up and ready to go just in case! Bloody hell, so much for a nice, relaxing day off school!

Bad news for wildlife, well some anyway. Heres hoping it dosent reach you Red! keep us updated as u can, pics after too!

Crap man that doesn't sound good at all, i wish u the best .

Thanks guys,

I cant really go anywhere lol, gotta wait for my sister to come home, and tell her to organise her gear.
The wind has changed direction now, the fire is heading away from me!! Just saw it jump a road tho :S. Firies are just driving around watching it, dunno what they are doing!

Fingers Crossed!

Yeah the wind has been strong, its died down now, the fire hasnt moved anywhere in a while, its just burning fallen timber and stuff like that for the time being. Firies are using water now :)

quick man send me alll your reptiles QUIIIKKKKKKKK to make sure :D

good luck with it all mate!! wonder if it will be on the news tonight.............and houses burnt down? or is it at a safe distance still?

wow, is it that fire that was in the paper?

i drove past it, i was about 100m away from it and the heat was intense, could feel it in the car

u could feel heat from a paper with a pic of fire on it from 100 m away?

no, i drove past the fire and the next day it was in the news paper

Thanks,
I doubt it Soul...this is pretty much a daily occurance up our way this time of the year. No houses burnt down... the fire came maybe 40m from me, lucky for the firebreak!! That wouldnt have helped with all the wind behind it tho.

Dont think so Tommo,
check tomorrows paper though, might be something in it
