Buzzing heat mat !?

hey guys.

i bought a heat mat from the herp shop yesterday (along with a pulse proportional habistat)

i setup my tank not long ago for my 2 levis, plugged it in, put it on 30c, and then 5 minutes later it was buzzing ???
is this bad?

im a bit worried as yesterday i got no receipt nor was the heat mat packed!

Mate I would turn it off straight away! it's not normal.

unfortunatly that is what those green heat mats do. the buzzing sound is the thin foil element vibrating due to the electrical current. running it through a mat stat will reduce this but not solve the issue.

i have a green one too and i have the same issues. i have mine for over YR and nothing has happened. i got told they were noisy but nothing to worry about. if u want a quiet one get a stick on when possible.

it will work fine. it will do the job it is designed to do. unfortunatly it is just an annoying noise of the buzz. i had quite a few cages fitted with them and not one python was disturbed by the vibration. after a week i pulled them out because i couldnt be in the same room.

i have the same heat mat from the herp shop and i have found it will buzz but it works just fine.
