Im not sure if its the same for snakes BUT with my lizards i clean up any poo i see straight away because i dont think it would be very healthy Chillin with a turd or pleasent for that matter ;P But im not sure about your situation because i wipe up any of it and replace when need be and i have Repti Klean which is a 'hosptial grade' cleaner (probs just an easy way to make money out of bleach water ;P) But yeah hope any of that helps im still abit nooby to the whole reptile world But im pretty sure alot more info will head your way

Cheers

I have spare click clacks ready to go. I just transfer the animal into it, minimal stress.
I use warm water & F10 to disinfect.

lol thats so cute. how big is your little guy?

Yeah it is the best you can get.
Most pet shops would sell it. Go to a vet to.
ah alright. i just havent had the time to buy it yet. so ive been cleaning the cage with hot water and let it cool til i put the snake back in there.

since my click clacks are lined with paper towels and cages with newspaper or towels cleaning mostly consists on removing the paper or towels and relining them, click clacks get a quick spray of water and are wiped out well with paper towel, if a snake does a big sloppy crap down teh side of its cage i'll use morning fresh and rinse it till it smells of nothing again,...

cant imagine any chemicals being in contact with my animals would be good for them,...

oh and i clean it up straight away, cant imagine it would be fun sharing a small space with a turd.

lol yeah thats what i do too. i cant imagine sharing with poo. haha. and my spotted urinate heaps. =S like the whole square of paper towel gets wet coz of her. haha.

I try and clean every time i walk into the reptile room, I hate seeing so much paper go to waste so i try and recycle paper that is not to bad and some of it goes on the garden under mulch. I find metho or bleach to be good as long as its washed of properly.
Croc tanks get a half empty once a week and then topped up, same with the turtles and frogs.

Generally animals are housed singley and so only exposed to their own waste and any nasties it may contain. There is no need to use "hospital strength cleaners" . They are made for controlling disease pathogens in disease laiden environments and should be kept for that.
Leave the big guns for when you need them not for day to day use. To put it bluntly, you dont wipe your bum with anterseptic wipes everytime you poo do you?

if it's just a click clack I just wash the whole thing in hot soapy water in the laundry sink and change the paper asap when they poop.
if it's the enclosures I change the paper when they poop, monthly I do a complete clean out, I use 10parts hot water to 1part bleach to wash out the inside when I clean them out and then rince with clean water and air dry.
