tonight when i pickd up my coastal i noticed something was wrong with her underbelly near the bottom her scales on her belly were all red and it looked like it was blood blisters. then i noticed that my snake bedding (aspen snake bedding) was stuck to the end of her tail when i looked closer i noticed that bits of scales had come off and the she had lost all movement in the tip of her tail. it just hangs there were before she would use it as an anchor.

i dont know what is wrong with her
can anybody help?

any information would be greatly appreicated

What exactly do u mean, after some pythons feed their belly goes a pinky, red colour, something to do with blood in the snake, have u fed it recently.About the snake bedding and scales coming off, wait 4 some1 that knows a bit more 2 explain 2 you,Cheers

i dont think its that i fed her last saturday and its not all a pinky red colour its just in some spots

and i dont think it could be a burn because the area where the heat mat is isnt that hot

I think you might need to pay ur local vet a visit,if possible a reptile vet.

yes there is one at eatons hill so i think i need to go there

thanks for all the help

Sounds like it may be scale rot in which case you need to get the snake to the vet ASAP. Are you able to post pics? Has the substrate been wet at any point in the last few weeks? Also, what temps have you been offering the snake?

Redness can also be an indicator of an internal inflammation - possibly blockage or internal infection. I hope you get him to the vet. Let us know how it goes.
