Central Bearded Dragon Help!

Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since I've posted any threads on here, my apologies. My Central Bearded Dragon has been behaving strangely for the past 2 days. She's coming up 2 years now. Normally she just potters around and basks etc all the normal stuff, but at the moment she seems so cranky and looks as if she's trying to get out. She goes from one end of the enclosure to the other and seems to be 'patrolling the boarders' all the time. I came home the other day only to find that she had dug 2 big holes and filled her food and water dishes with sand. She also climbs up the wall like she's scratching at it almost. I remember her doing this winter last year as well. She's such a beautiful girl, I'm desperate to get some help so I can understand what her current behavior is. thats a pickle if it wasnt june you'd think she was lookin for a place to lay eggs. has she got a good hide? she might want somewhere to hide away for the winter

Yeah I know that's what I thought that she was trying to find somewhere to lay eggs, but it's wrong timing. Yes she has a great hide where she sleeps most nights, but sometimes she will sleep on her log. I think I might call Brisbane Birds and Exotics Vet tomorrow and see if they can help too. Just really want to understand what she doing. I had her out in the sun today for ages which she loved, but once again was climbing around everywhere in the flexarium, when she normally just sits and basks. A mystery!! Thanks for your reply!

Sounds like she might be uncomfortable, did you allow her to go into brumation?

If temps are fine I wouldn't be too concerned. It's not unusual for them to behave like this. She may also be trying to find a place to brumate.
