Over the past few days I have taken a major liking to Centralian Carpet Pythons, but I have not been able to find anything on Centralians. I was wondering if someone would be able to give me any info on the snake themselves, care requirements, and about breeding them....

Any information will be great!!!

Hi Belinda,
Yep they are a great python, i got 2 this season 'accidently' and have found them to be really choice animals.
Check out the photos on my page, I have a photo of an older sibling if you would like me to post it to show the colours through maturing.
the only things i know are;
they get redder as they get older,
they poop heaps,
they can pump out 50 eggs!
they have finer scales so shed nicer skins off!
they hang out in their tanks in great poses.

Basically they are a carpet python the same as all the others,

now here is a myth i would like to know if its true or not
i was told, not to put their water bowl with them all the time as they do not like humidity - it is foreign to the natural environment but,
every book ive read says in nature they habitat around water courses.
i have had the water bowl in with mine 100% of the time, and for the last 2 nights Helga has coiled up in the water bowl (i'm hoping she will shed soon). so I dont rate it as gospel. but does anybody live by this?
Cheers

Hey ppl,
I read ad's post and believe him when he says they pose (if only i had a digital camera :( ) my bredli picks a pose and stays like that for very long periods of time. And like i have said in other posts the bredli is a very good snake to start off with as they are relatively easy to look after and have a striking colour and paterns. (and i am not speeking from experiance but breeding snakes is fair easy if you know what you are doing so do some research as i intend on breeding with my bredli as soon as i can gather the money and the proper knowledge etc.

so on other words it is easier to say it then actually do it.

Cheers,
Jeremy
