Hi guys,
I am getting a Woma next year sometime and will be keeping him in a melamine enclosure with 120x60x45 dimensions. (after the click clack.)

I plan on using a ceramic heat emitter. Can anyone tell me what kind of wattage I will need to to maintain temps incl ambient temps plus basking spot. (i live in Vic btw so it can get cold)

A few more questions sorry
Do i need the dome light shade thing or the reflector or can I simply put it in the enclosure with a cage around it.
Also does anyone know a good brand for CHE's?
I have read about the exo terra CHE but it says this: "The Heat Wave Lamp is to be used only with the specially designed Exo Terra Wire Light."
Does anyone know what this means? (and if it's a reliable CHE?)
Is the zoomed one any good too?

Thanks for any replies,

Please guys
would really appreciate some help

If you are that keen on using a CHE use a 100w and a dimming or pulse proportional thermostat. CHE's get very hot you must use a ceramic fitting and even though womas are not arboreal you must use a cage or you will get a burnt snake. You can get cheap emitters off eBay but spend the money on a quality thermostat either microclimate or habistat. IMO you would be better off using cords or a mat as suggested to you in your other thread. No offense intended.

None taken don't worry. Only reason I would like lamps or globes of some sort is because I will be using a cord for the woma's click clack then passing that on to some geckos. Also the adult enclosure - which I have got a good deal on - comes with some ES light fittings and thought I may aswell make use of them rather than wasting them and buying another heat cord. chose ceramics over regular red bulbs due to life expectancy and no light emitted so i can use it at night if i need to. (will be using with a uv globe for some light)
Sorry if I sound like I am not taking the advice given. I do really appreciate it. I will probably test the CHE's then if I don't like them or aren't getting decent ambient or basking temps will happily spend the money on a good cord or mat.
Oh and yes I will be using the microclimate B1 dimming thermostat. and definitely put a cage around the CHE.
Thanks so much for your answer,

Good luck with your new snake and I hope it all works out well. Just be aware that CHE's throw out a lot of heat and can scorch melamine. I use one in my 1200 enclose with my dragons in conjunction with a daytime basking spot and there is a bit of scorching on the inside of the top.

Thanks for the heads up mate.
And yes, hopefully it does all work out well. Just need to find a decent Woma breeder now. I know of a few interstate such as pilbara pythons, SXReptiles and snake ranch to name a few but would prefer local (Vic) if possible. Know anyone haha?
anyway thanks again!
