hello all
today i had my childrens python out and i noticed some of the scales on his underside were sticking up and he felt really rough and didnt move as smoothly across my skin.He doesnt have any clouded eyes or anything and his behaviour is normal, should i be worried? also he is 1 year old

I have heard that mites cause there scales to 'lift'.......but if you cant find mites, id say its more then likely nothing to worry about, perhaps after the next shed it will return to normal.

if theres no mites then it sounds just like what i just had with my girl . really bad shed.. dunno how it came of in one piece check your temps and bath the snake in luke warm water every few days until it sheds. looks horrible but it should be ok. just keep your tank clean and dry. with a fresh water dish big enough for them to sit in.
