A few years ago, when animals were common in circuses, i used to walk around the grounds between shows.
I always found it a lot more interesting, seeing the animals, than the actual performances.

In Rosebud, Victoria, this circus, with lions and monkeys, horses dogs ect has been here for the school holidays.

Here is a short bit of film and pics of this fun place.

And a question for the horsey people, the hobble attached to the horses front legs.

I imagine its to stop him mounting the females but it was sad to see him try to walk.

I spose it standard equipment but due to my horsey ignorance, i have never seen it before.

Anyway, here is my little movie.

In my few years in Dubai, the camel herders would use the towels on their heads to hobble the front camel as they would all be stringed together in a convoy.

Driving past the circus last time it was in town and saw a couple of lions.but the bigger animals in circuses cant be happy being confined and on the road all the time?

When my son was little he asked to go to the Royal Melb Show to see the animals . I took him to the Dandenong stockyards on auction day . He was happy and didnt notice the difference .

Hang on...I think my mum & dad did that to me..
Except it was an abbaotoir..
it all makes sense now..

But seriously, some , so called wild, animals seem to cope with circus life fairly well and, the quality of their actual life in some cases seem to be ok..
Some of us laugh at the monkey in the stupid clothes, and some of us are offended by the exploitation..
If the monkey could talk he would be like, watever, im never going to be free and ...things could be worse.
I personally dont get off on watching animals jumping through hoops but thats just me but i think some of these animals are quite happy / content with their lot in life.
It is hot and the beer is going down well..btw
