Close encounter - need reassurance

Hi - I'm a newbie. Hope u can help.

I've lived in a shed in FNQ for the last 2 years with at least one snake, but it's not a pet. I've been told it is a "Dolls Eye". I had it turfed out once but it came back (of course - the shed's his/her territory) and so far we've kept a respectful distance from each other.

BUT last night I went to bed, turned out the light, and about 10 minutes later heard a rustling sound coming from stuff hanging on the wall by the bed. I switched on the light and saw it was the snake pushing his head past something stuck on the wall. The rest of his body though... was next to me on the bed. A little too close for comfort!!!

What I would like to know (i've read a bit on the net but still have Qs)
- What's the likelihood of mr/mrs dolls eye giving me a bedtime bite?
- Is there any easy way I can tell from a distance if it is a male/female?
- How long do they live?
- Anything else interesting. Thanks!

bts arnt any danger to us r they cant they be kept with class 1 licence

Wow! He's dark in that second photo!

- He's not going to seek you out to bite you, but if he lands in bed with you, and you roll on top if him, he might bite you.
- You probably won't be able to sex it from a distance
- I haven't heard of any statistics for brown tree snake longevity, but I don't think 10* years would be unreasonable.
- WD-40 stands for Water Displacement, 40th attempt

As others have said it's a brown tree snake, and is harmless.
