Hi everyone, I'm posting this for a friend who is not a member. He is'nt satisfied that his carpet python is coastal. I've told him that i will ask you guys and see what u think. I think coastal or brissy mabey but not sure what does everyone else think? Sorry bout the pic quality i did'nt take it but i will try and get him to take some more better ones.

Hix asks a good question, what else could it be? And also, what is a Brissy?

Cant really tell anything from that pic. Snakes in the shadows. Take a better pic and post it.

I'd say Coastal from that pic. Some ppl use locality descriptions like Brisbanes/Proserpine/Townsville but they are all still coastals.
I too am curious what your friend thinks it is besides a coastal.

He keeps tryin to tell me its a darwin. I keep telling him till I'm blue in the face that its not but he wont listen! Its obviously not a Darwin blind freddy could see that.

AHHHH, but not long ago blind freddie was you Childreni!! so, to a newbie just a little bit of education can go a long way

The colours are all funky on my monitor but my first impression was a Proserpine. The more i look the less obvious it becomes.
:?

lmao.... imo its not a darwin... lol but it looks just a little like one of my brissy coastals that i just got from ozherp dude but its a lot darker, though it could just be the pic....

I am with you Afro. Who cares Sxereturn. I have never heard you make a big fuss over people calling others by their locality name so why the big carry on ALL THE TIME about BRISSYs ? As we all know certain colours are indicative of certain localities (generally speaking) It is no different to when people talk of Jungles \ Atherton Carpets. It is excepted that when talking of Jungles they are refering generally to the Black and yellow\gold phase as apposed to the brown or green phase. It isn't worth getting all bent out of shape about. In short Brissys are coastals as mentioned earlier.

I care! You can't look at Coastal Carpet and say it's a "Brissy" because it's a dull brown colour. Ive seen hundreds of wild Carpets in the Brisbane area and most of them are not the dull brown colour Carpets that usually get labelled "Brissys".
I wouldn't call a Coastal Carpet a "Brissy" Carpet unless I was 100% sure that it did originate from the Brisbane area.

What about Jungle pythons? We don't have any jungles in Australia so I guess that name is wrong too. How many Darwin pythons are only from Darwin? How many coastal pythons are actually from the coast? How many miles away from the coast does it have to be before it is an Inland python? If a scrub python is found in a built up area is it now a Town python?
It's just a name. No need to be so anal about it.
